Iranian film Fish and Cat, directed by Shahram Mokri and produced by Sepehr Seifi, was chosen as the best feature film in Prague International Film Festival.
A product of Novin Film, Fish and Cat has participated in many events so far and won numerous international awards. This film narrates the story of a number of students who have traveled to the Caspian region in order to participate in a kite-flying event during the winter solstice. Next to their camp is a small hut occupied by three cooks who work at a nearby restaurant.
Fish & Cat has been previously premiered at Venice Film Festival 2013, and won awards at 28th Fribourg International Film Festival. It has also been shortlisted for APSA awards in 2013; special jury award 8th Iranian Film Critics and Screenwriters Guild Celebration 2014, Best Director prize at the Hanoi film festival, Best Film Award at the 13th Lisbon and Estoril Film Festival in Portugal and so on.
Stop-Over, another Iranian film directed by Kaveh Bakhtiari, also took the Best Film award in documentary films section of Prague film festival.
The Prague film festival was held from January 7 to 12, 2015 in capital of Czech Republic.
